The Trip Home

Instead of going straight home, we decided to stop at the Hoover Dam. It was 103 degrees. We took the tour and learned--among other things--that 103 degrees is a nice day at a place that gets up to 130 degrees. Seriously.




From there, we went to Vegas (pretty much the only place you can go if you're going that direction). Paige paid for our detour by playing slots for 10 minutes (She won over $300) at the MGM Grand where we stayed.



Between Vegas and LA, we stopped at Baker just to get gas. As it turned out, that part of the trip was worth documenting too...Yes, the big sign says "Alien Fresh Jerky."



This is "The World's Tallest Thermometer.



This struck me as a dubious honor.



And finally...
